The Proposal Manager will sit within The Creative Lab, a high‑performing specialist unit focused on creating and producing sales documents across Compass UK&I. The team works nationally, managing high‑value bids and proposals across multiple sectors and delivering creative, strategic, solution‑based bid proposals that support the company’s win strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of bid creation, management and submission.
- Write proposals and presentations, including bid‑writing standards, technical content, and persuasive delivery structures.
- Project‑manage the entire bid lifecycle, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support Sales and Retention Leads in identifying win strategies, solution design, and tender clarification logs.
- Prepare the Bid Overview template and support kick‑off workshops to capture win themes, competitor and SWOT analysis.
- Produce the Win Theme document for distribution alongside the Sales and Retention Lead.
- Support sector bid writers and manage storyboard sessions to structure and write responses.
- Collaborate with Design Managers to create high‑impact bids, proposals and presentations using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Conduct post‑pitch debriefs with Bid Leaders and provide feedback to the bid content team.
- Track and manage progress of the bid through the Compliance Matrix and communicate updates to the bid team.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in managing and winning complex bids.
- Experience in persuasive bid writing to create compelling sales documents.
- Strong analytical and project‑management skills with the ability to multitask across multiple tenders.
- Excellent people‑management skills, diplomacy and ability to build relationships with directors and internal departments.
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrable experience using a bid‑management methodology (e.g., Shipley, BidPerfect).
- Creative strategic thinking and a willingness to develop, drive and implement new solutions.
Technical Skills
- Strong command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Advanced user of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (desirable).
- Experience with e‑tendering portals such as Bravosolutions.
