Join Compass Group and Lead an Exciting New Mobilisation Compass Group, the UK's leading food and support services provider, is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a new onshore energy sector site in Netherton, Peterhead.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful mobilisation of a new contract, with the site expected to go live from the beginning of September.

As Chef Manager, you will take ownership of the catering service, delivering exceptional food, outstanding customer experiences, and strong financial performance while leading and developing a dedicated catering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful mobilisation and ongoing management of the catering operation.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality fresh food offerings.
  • Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food safety, compliance, and HACCP procedures.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Control food costs, labour budgets, and stock management to achieve financial targets.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure excellent health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
  • Drive innovation, menu development, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Maintain Compass Group standards across service, quality, and operational excellence.

About You We're looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional food and service.

You will ideally have

  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Catering Manager, or Head Chef with management responsibilities.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness.
  • Experience managing teams and developing talent.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A recognised food hygiene qualification (Level 3 preferred).
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and food safety compliance.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities during a mobilisation phase and beyond.
  • Experience within contract catering, energy, industrial, or remote-site environments would be advantageous.
