ESS Employment is seeking full-time warehouse operatives to join our client’s team. As part of the team, you will help load and unload vehicles engaged in parcel freight distribution.
Successful candidates will be required to check that loads are completed accurately and safely, making use of freight handling equipment. This role involves lifting. You will need to be a good communicator and reliable, have a good eye for detail, be able to work as part of a team, and adhere to health and safety at work.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
- Follow all aspects of manual handling and safe working policies
- Handle all freight with care and attention
- Access and egress vehicles using the correct means
- Use the correct equipment and methods for handling and moving all freight
- Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the depot
- Report all damages immediately to your line manager
- Ensure all freight being loaded or unloaded matches relevant paperwork/scanner information
- Ensure customer freight is transported, stored safely, and treated with respect
- Ensure the security of freight and company assets by reporting any suspicious activity to your line manager or security team
- Keep the warehouse tidy and report H&S issues immediately
This is a full-time position paying £12.21 – £12.50 per hour, working 40 hours per week, starting from April 28. ESS Employment works with clients and candidates across various disciplines, placing people in permanent, contract, and temporary roles.
