We have a fantastic opportunity to join a leader in their field as our client's new Warehouse Manager.
LOCATION: GL10 Area
HOURS: 37 hours per week
PAY: £34,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Permanent Vacancy
This is a position of responsibility and we are looking for a candidate with a real understanding of how a parts warehouse functions as you will be working to tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment during peak periods. We are looking for a candidate who can develop and streamline the process, introducing and working to KPIs for the warehouse team. Due to the nature of the business/product, the hours will change between Summer and Winter. Between March and October, you will work 8 hours a day between 08:00 and 17:00 (40 hours per week) and between October and March between 09:00 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 09:00 and 16:00 on Friday (34 hours per week). Salary is based on 37 hours per week throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
- Management of a small warehouse team.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of parts.
- Liaise with suppliers and transport companies.
- Leading the team within a fast-moving distribution environment.
- Managing the smooth running of the warehouse and looking to improve and streamline warehouse functions with KPIs.
- Keep stock control systems up to date and ensure inventories are accurate.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Organisation of spare parts and cataloguing items.
- You must be methodical and able to motivate and organise staff and workload.
- Experience of dealing with multiple locations and logistical networks.
- Work closely with Sales staff.
- Must be fully IT literate and used to operating parts-based database systems.
- Hands-on approach to work and be able to both lead and work with your team.
- We are looking for someone who leads by example.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Conduct appraisals, return-to-work interviews and holiday approvals.
