Vacancy – Design Engineer
ESS Employment Ltd are looking to recruit a Design Engineer for an established Engineering company in Yate, to prepare design briefs, detailed specifications and BOMs to fulfil customer requirements. Reporting to the General Manager and Managing Director.
Duties for the role:
•Become a technical specialist with the business’ product and offer customers the best solution to fit their needs
•Managing Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) processes and Conformity of Production (CoP)
•Taking customer projects from concept to completion while communicating effectively and professionally to various internal and external personnel
•Design and draughting using AutoCAD and Solidworks
•Design projects from concept to production, ensuring performance, manufacturability and regulatory compliance across the product range
•Structural stress analysis and finite element analysis
•Ensure all products comply with relevant UKCA/CE regulations and customer specs
•Support the design, research and development of new products
•Conducting remote and client meetings
•Visiting subcontractor sites for pre-production, assembly, trials and testing of products
The successful candidate:
•At least 5-10 years’ experience as a Design Engineer
•Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, supported by relevant working experience.
•Extensive AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience and familiarity.
•Experience in design for manufacture.
•Experience using 3D structural stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
