Operational Management
- Assist in the daily management and supervision of catering operations across the school.
- Support the Catering Manager in planning and coordinating meal services, special events, and hospitality functions.
- Ensure food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Support the recruitment, induction, training, and development of catering staff.
- Supervise catering team members and provide guidance during service periods.
- Assist in preparing staff rotas and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
Food Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all food safety legislation, health and safety regulations, and school policies.
- Assist in maintaining HACCP procedures and food safety documentation.
- Conduct regular checks of kitchen equipment, storage areas, and food preparation practices.
- Support allergen management and ensure accurate food labelling.
Financial Responsibilities
- Assist with budget monitoring and cost control.
- Support stock control procedures and minimise food waste.
- Help analyse purchasing and operational costs to improve efficiency.
Customer Service
- Maintain excellent relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and visitors.
- Promote healthy eating initiatives and support themed dining events.
- Maintain catering records, including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and supplier documentation.
- Support menu planning and dietary requirement management.
