JOB OVERVIEW

ESS Employment Ltd is recruiting for an Equipment Technician to join our local client. Transport is essential due to the client’s location. Hours are 37 per week Monday to Thursday 9.00 – 17.00 and Friday 9.00 – 16.30, inclusive of driving time to and from jobs. Overtime is taken in lieu.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver and install equipment at customers’ premises to meet company standards and expectations.
  • Deliver training and support to customers’ staff in maintenance of equipment, ensuring they can carry out routine tasks.
  • Carry out scheduled and ad hoc maintenance and repairs of equipment, ensuring all work is in accordance with specifications and customers’ satisfaction.
  • Prioritise own workload and journey plans each day to ensure efficient use of time and meeting customer service standards.
  • Support scheduling workload and booking overnight accommodation provided by Administrators.
  • Develop effective working relationships with customers to ensure good communication and to enhance their perception of our company, acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Complete detailed information onto job sheets in a timely manner and to required standard, so invoices can be issued promptly, parts ordered and records kept up to date.
  • Maintain pre-agreed levels of stock and tools in the company van supplied, ensuring completion of installation, service and repair visits.
  • Carry out regular stock checks on van contents and requisition additional stock from the Warehouse Supervisor where required.
  • Maintain the van and all supplied tools in order to uphold high service standards.
  • Strengthen own contribution to the business by identifying personal development needs and participating actively in performance reviews.
  • Service vans are collected from head office each morning and work schedules allocated for service and repair jobs.
  • Sites may include football clubs, gyms, health clubs, physiotherapy clinics, homes and other locations in England and Wales.
  • Support installation and delivery at exhibitions and shows; overnight stays may be required occasionally.

Requirements

  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Experience with assembly and use of hand tools and following drawings.
  • Good customer-facing skills and ability to build strong and effective relationships on site.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a wider team.
  • Attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy across a variety of tasks.
  • Physically fit, with manual handling experience.
  • Good time-keeping, organised work style and self-motivated.
