Pay & Hours
- £29,579 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week (5 of 7 days)
- 1 weekend in 4 (2-week rotating rota)
- Early shift: 06:30 – 14:00
- Late shift: 11:00 – 20:00
Meal Service Times
- Breakfast – 07:00 to 08:30
- Lunch – 12:00 to 13:30
- Evening meal – 17:30 to 18:30

About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Chef de Partie to join our dedicated team at Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore. You’ll be part of a small, supportive kitchen team delivering freshly prepared meals for service personnel, maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation. This role offers great work-life balance, a friendly environment and the chance to build your career within ESS, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, safety and allergen control standards
- Support kitchen operations and assist senior chefs during service
- Help with stock control, menu input and day-to-day kitchen organisation
- Work collaboratively within a small team to deliver a consistent, positive dining experience
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience essential in a professional kitchen or similar environment
- Qualifications desirable (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent)
- Passion for great food and high standards
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and reliable, able to work a mix of early and late shifts
