ESROE has vacancies in their small company of experts working in the area of Electronic Warfare, particularly in Electronic Surveillance Measures (ESM) and Radar Identification. The successful applicant/s will be involved in the development of ESROE’s MicroESM system/s and associated software applications. The roles are varied and can be biased towards software development or hardware tasks depending on skills and experience.

Work may include:

  • A variety of software development projects
  • Investigations into current performances
  • Further algorithm development
  • User interface design and development
  • Data analysis
  • Writing software documentation
  • Preparation of releases for customers
  • System testing
  • Customer support

There is also the potential to work on some of ESROE’s other key products, including artificial intelligence software for radar classification and radar identification performance analysis. The hardware tasks require general electronic engineering skills and firm radio frequency (RF) engineering knowledge or experience. Work may include bench and field testing of the current product, including the development of test signal generation and test environments plus analysis of the results achieved.

There is the opportunity for short trips away in the UK and abroad with the team participating in hardware and software trials and demonstrations. ESROE are looking for someone who is driven, creative, has strong mathematical skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent team working skills, and can confidently work independently. Work is office based and these roles are not suitable for remote or hybrid working.

You must have:

  • An excellent honours degree in a relevant subject such as Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar
  • Studied, or have practical/industry experience of software development
  • A strong interest in gaining good knowledge of ESM, its software and hardware
  • Excellent ability to learn new skills with minimal supervision
