JOB DESCRIPTION

ESROE has vacancies in a small company of experts working in the area of Electronic Warfare, specifically in Electronic Surveillance Measures (ESM) and Radar Identification.

The successful applicant(s) will be involved in the development of ESROE’s MicroESM system(s) and associated software applications. The roles are varied and can be biased towards hardware or software development tasks depending on skills and experience.

Hardware tasks require general electronic engineering skills and firm radio frequency (RF) engineering knowledge or experience. Work may include bench and field testing of the current product, the development of test signal generation and test environments, plus analysis of the results achieved. Tasks may also involve work to support new ESM receiver products.

Software work may include a variety of development projects, investigations into current performances, further algorithm development, user interface design and development, data analysis, writing software documentation, preparation of releases for customers, system testing and customer support. There is also the potential to work on some of ESROE’s other key products, such as its artificial intelligence software for radar classification and radar identification performance analysis.

There is the opportunity for short trips away in the UK and abroad with the team participating in hardware and software trials and demonstrations.

ESROE is looking for someone who is driven, creative, has strong mathematical skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent team‑working skills and can also confidently work independently.

Work is based in our spacious open‑plan modern ground‑floor office. This role is not suitable for remote or hybrid working.

Due to the nature of this position we require you to have, or be willing and eligible to achieve, SC clearance. The work requires you to be a Sole UK National.

  • Excellent honours degree in a relevant subject such as Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar.
  • Studied, or have practical/industry experience of software development.
  • Strong interest in Defence Technology.
  • Strong interest in gaining good knowledge of ESM, its software and hardware.
  • Strong desire to work in a small company.
  • Excellent ability to learn new skills with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be persistent and thorough in investigative tasks.
