About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Rightsize Housing Officer to join Nottingham City Council Housing Services' Housing Options Team. In this rewarding role, you will help tenants who are living in homes that no longer meet their needs, whether they require a smaller property due to under-occupation or a larger home because of overcrowding.

Working closely with residents, colleagues, and partner organisations, you will provide practical advice and support throughout the rehousing journey. This includes helping customers explore their housing options, complete applications, access financial assistance where appropriate, bid for properties through HomeLink, and successfully move into their new home. You will also play a key role in promoting the Rightsize service, supporting mutual exchanges, and ensuring vulnerable residents receive the additional assistance they need.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills and a passion for delivering positive outcomes for customers. You will manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate records, monitor outcomes, and work collaboratively to make the best use of Nottingham's social housing stock while improving residents' quality of life.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to local communities by helping people find homes that are right for them.

  • Demonstrating personal commitment to the equality, diversity, and inclusion challenges faced by our workforce and Nottingham’s people
  • Ability to remain calm and able to make accurate and timely decisions whilst under pressure and to maintain control of challenging situations.
