About the Role
The role is based in the PFI team which forms part of Residents Services within the CERS Department. The prime function of the role is to manage the Tram contract on behalf of the Authority which is operated through a Private Finance Initiative. The postholder will be responsible for liaising with various departments within the Authority to provide responses to contract queries as well as responding to planning requests received from developments along the Tram route. There may be exciting opportunities to become involved in any future extension to the tram network. In addition, the successful applicant will be the main contact for appropriate Committee meetings and be responsible for addressing queries from Council Members and the general public on tram related matters.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A knowledge of the operational aspects of the PFI Contracts or similar long term contracts and audit procedures.
- An understanding of Tram systems is desirable.
- Be highly numerate and literate to produce written reports and interpret statistical data.
- Ability to conduct contractual negotiations of a commercial and/or technical nature, and to resolve issues that arise.
- Knowledge of the planning and legislative framework for transportation projects, including light rail.
- Knowledge and experience of recognised project management methods and techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information orally and in writing in a clear and precise manner.
This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.
