About the Role

Post-16 in Leicestershire is changing. As a Senior Post-16 Practitioner, you will lead and support Post-16 Practitioners, strengthen consistent practice across the county, and work with colleges, schools, providers, families and partners to help young people access positive next steps.

What you’ll do

• Line manage and support practitioners.
• Coach, mentor and model effective practice.
• Work with colleges, providers, schools and partners.
• Identify young people at risk of disengagement or NEET.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

• Level 3 qualification, post 16, education or equivalent and relevant additional qualification or training in Post 16, inclusion, careers, employability skills, vocational education, UCAS, coaching, supervision or leadership.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining specialist knowledge relevant to Post 16 inclusion practice
• Experience of working with young people, post-16 providers and schools where young people have SEND or are at risk of NEET, leading, supervising or line managing staff, coaching, modelling and advising staff to embed inclusive strategies, and collaborative multi-agency working with education, health, social care, voluntary agencies and families.
• Experience of recording, reviewing and evaluating the impact of support, including producing clear written advice and visit records
• Knowledge of post 16 pathways and preparation for adulthood, the 4 areas of need and how they may impact a young person’s journey Post 16, how cognition and learning, communication needs, sensory needs, SEMH needs and additional needs may present in post-16 settings and schools, and SEND Code of Practice.
• Knowledge of the 4 pillars for PfA and how these are applied practically across LA services, evidence‑informed early intervention approaches, and KS4, post-16 ( both FE and HE) provision and relevant local authority systems, pathways and partner agencies.
• A strengths‑based, trauma‑informed approach.
