About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Officer to join our Transport Projects & Programmes team within the Environment and Transport Department. The successful applicant will join a motivated, friendly team of professionals committed to delivering public sector highway projects and programmes that offer best value for money.

Role focus: The Project Support Officer position will support Project Managers and the Senior Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and delivering various highway projects by handling day-to-day tasks such as developing project documentation, assisting in tracking project progress against timelines and budgets, assisting with risk management, project reporting and quality assurance.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • A relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience commensurate with the role.
  • Experience of working in an office environment including the use of MS Office programmes to produce reports and manage workload.
  • Experience of maintaining effective partnerships and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders which can include statutory, voluntary, private agencies and communities.
  • Experience of working to tight timescales and be a self-starter to manage your own workload.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • An ability to problem solve and identify new and efficient ways of working.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
