The Esplanade Surgery is a welcoming, caring and patient-focused GP practice based in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. A bit about the role: We are looking for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team on a part-time basis (28.5 hours a week). The successful candidate will work as an autonomous advanced practitioner, assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with minor illness, urgent care needs and ongoing health concerns. The role will involve face‑to‑face consultations, prescribing, requesting and interpreting investigations, supporting self‑care and health promotion, and working closely with GPs and other members of the multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, clinically confident ANP who enjoys working independently while also being part of a supportive and collaborative general practice team.

Essential role requirements:

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • V300 Independent Prescribing qualification, with prescribing annotation on the NMC register.
  • Able to evidence eligibility for ARRS reimbursement as an Advanced Practitioner Nurse.
  • MSc Advanced Clinical Practice / MSc Advanced Practice at Level 7, ideally from a Centre for Advancing Practice accredited programme; or completed Centre for Advancing Practice ePortfolio Supported Route confirming advanced practice recognition.
  • Experience working at advanced practice level.
  • Confident assessing, diagnosing and managing patients presenting with minor illness, urgent care needs or undifferentiated conditions in adults and children.
  • Able to work autonomously within professional boundaries and recognise when referral or escalation is required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, patient dignity and safe clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable role requirements:

  • Experience working in general practice, primary care, urgent care, out-of-hours or a similar community setting.
  • Experience using SystmOne, Ardens or similar clinical templates.
  • Experience contributing to QOF, audit, quality improvement or service development.
  • Additional relevant qualifications or experience in areas such as advanced clinical assessment, long‑term condition management, women’s health, diagnostics or urgent care.
