We're hiring an experienced Network Engineer to join a key client engagement supporting enterprise network infrastructure across multiple UK sites. You'll be at the forefront of designing, deploying, and optimising Cisco-based solutions including SD-WAN and Software-Defined Access while providing technical leadership and assurance across the network function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, deploy, and support enterprise Cisco network infrastructure across multiple sites
- Manage and optimise Cisco SD-WAN (SWAN) and Software-Defined Access (SDA) environments
- Lead network installations, migrations, and infrastructure upgrade projects
- Review and approve network designs, implementation plans, and technical documentation
- Conduct architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical assurance activities
- Mentor and guide a small in-house network engineering team
- Evaluate new networking technologies and solutions to meet evolving business needs
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and drive root cause analysis on critical incidents
- Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Ensure network performance, availability, security, and capacity through proactive monitoring
What We're Looking For
- CCNA certified or equivalent hands-on Cisco networking experience
- Solid enterprise Cisco networking background with proven delivery track record
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN and SDA implementations
- Experience leading or contributing to network design assessments, POCs, and product evaluations
- Hands-on expertise across: Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, EIGRP; Switching - VLANs, STP, EtherChannel; Network security - ACLs, VPNs, Firewalls, 802.1X; Wireless networking fundamentals; DNS, DHCP, QoS, and IP Address Management
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle high-pressure incidents
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
