Contract Type: Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Location: Ware Street, Stockton

Salary: Β£22,230

Annual Leave: 6 Weeks (including bank holidays) increasing to 8 weeks. Internal candidates, annual leave as current terms.

ESPA work in partnership with Stockton Borough Council to provide day provision to young people in the Ware Street area [TS20] of Stockton. Working closely with the Team Leader, this position offers an exciting new opportunity to take a lead role in developing and coordinating this growing provision. There are currently 16 people being supported, with room for growth.

Applicants will need to be experienced in delivering services of excellence to adults with autism and complex needs. You must have a mature, confident and compassionate attitude towards working with people who challenge services. Knowledge and experience of positive behavioural approaches is essential as is the ability to model best practice in all aspects of your work.

The successful applicant will be required to have a proactive approach to all matters relating to the delivery of an efficient, responsive and progressive service and should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Support Worker or similar role. You will have a defined role within the team, working closely with the Team leader and other members of the team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing an outcomes based programme of meaningful and stimulating activities for people using the service and formally reviewing individual programmes in place.
  • Through partnership working and networking with other agencies, sourcing additional community based opportunities for people, including work experience opportunities.
  • Alongside other senior staff, you will be required to deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.

It is important that you possess good verbal, written and IT skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A qualification relevant to the role, or the willingness to work towards achieving one would be necessary.
