ESPA College, North Rye caters for autistic young people between the ages of 16‑25 who are working towards qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individual to join the teaching team at North Rye. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with autistic learners with additional needs in education and hold a PGCE/Cert Ed, or an equivalent Level 5 teaching qualification.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individualised learning programmes for autistic people.
- Produce consistently high-quality teaching paperwork.
- Work closely with learning support assistants to deliver outstanding sessions.
- Differentiating learning materials and activities to meet learners’ needs.
- Gather evidence for accredited qualifications and RARPA portfolios.
- Implement thorough risk assessments that ensure all activities are carried out safely.
- Ensure that every student is making progress towards achieving their Education, Health and Care plans targets.
- Collaborate with external professionals and contribute to student reviews.
- Work with some learners who can present challenging behaviour.
- Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
