ESP Global Services is looking for an accomplished new-business sales leader to build and lead the next phase of our growth across the UK and US. This is a player-coach role with a clear mandate: win significant new customers personally while building a team capable of doing the same.

You will carry a personal Year 1 target of £3m+ net-new ACV, alongside leading a team of approximately 5–7 sales professionals towards a combined £12m+ net-new ACV target. We are looking for someone who enjoys being close to customers and deals: opening relationships, understanding complex customer challenges, shaping solutions, navigating enterprise buying cycles and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships.

ESP Global Services provides technology support, managed services and workforce solutions to major organisations operating complex and internationally distributed environments. Our next stage of growth requires a more focused and consistent approach to winning new customers. As Head of New Business Development, you will lead that agenda. You will own the new-business lifecycle from target-account strategy and initial engagement through qualification, solution development, negotiation and close — while developing a high-performing new-business team across the UK and US. Importantly, you will remain personally active in the market.

What You Will Lead

  • Personally originate, develop and close significant net-new logo opportunities.
  • Deliver £3m+ personal net-new ACV while leading the team towards £12m+ in Year 1.
  • Build a focused target-account and market development strategy.
  • Develop senior relationships with prospective customers and strategic stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and develop a UK and US new-business team with differing levels of experience.
  • Establish consistent opportunity qualification and sales methodology, using MEDDIC, BANT or equivalent.
  • Improve pipeline quality, conversion, CRM discipline and forecast accuracy.
  • Ensure resources are concentrated on opportunities where ESP has a credible route to win.
  • Partner with bid, pricing, solution and delivery teams to create commercially compelling propositions.
  • Use wins and losses to continually improve sales execution.
  • Ensure newly won customers transition successfully into Customer Success through a structured, relationship-led handover.

What We Need to See

Above all, we need evidence that you have personally created and won genuine net-new business. We will want to understand the customers and opportunities you originated, the complexity and value of the deals, how you established the initial relationship and the role you personally played in converting them.

You Are Likely To Bring

  • A strong net-new sales track record.
  • Experience originating and closing significant new-logo opportunities within enterprise or mid-market customers.
  • Continued personal sales ambition.
  • Complex solution-selling capability.
  • Relationship-led commercial judgement.
  • Leadership and coaching capability.
  • Commercial and pipeline discipline.
  • A global outlook.

What Success Looks Like

After 12 months, you will have helped create a stronger, more predictable new-business engine for ESP. Alongside delivery of the £3m+ personal and £12m+ team net-new ACV targets, we expect to see:

  • A high-quality pipeline focused on defined target accounts.
  • Improved new-logo conversion and forecast accuracy.
  • Stronger qualification and earlier decisions on lower-probability opportunities.
  • A team operating with consistent new-business behaviours.
  • Clear development and progression of sales talent.
  • Strong collaboration across Sales, Bid, Solutions, Delivery and Customer Success.
  • New customers transitioning into ESP through a professional, relationship-led handover.

Is This Your Next Opportunity?

This role could suit an experienced Head of New Business, New Business Director, Sales Director, Enterprise Sales Leader or a highly successful senior new-business salesperson ready to take on broader leadership responsibility. Your background may be in technology, managed services, outsourcing, professional services, workforce solutions or another complex B2B services environment. What matters most is your evidence of creating opportunities, building trusted senior relationships and converting those relationships into significant new customers.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to do more than inherit a sales function. You will help build it — shaping how ESP approaches new markets, develops sales capability and wins the customer relationships that underpin our next stage of growth.
