Desktop Support Engineer – London Gatwick Airport

£30,000 per annum – initial contract of 30 months with the possibility of renewal. Join our team as an IT Support Engineer and support enterprise IT operations with hands‑on troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network issues. This is a great opportunity for early‑career professionals to develop your IT career.

Working on‑site in London Gatwick Airport, rotational shifts 5 days on, 2 days off 7am – 19pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Perform some Smart Hands support for networking hardware.
  • Troubleshoot within Windows / iOS / Android OS support, software installations, and security updates.
  • Manage Active Directory tasks.
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi).

Requirements

  • 3 years+ experience in IT infrastructure support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues. As a Level 1 engineer you will resolve issues while adhering to hardware warranty and customer security compliance standards.
  • Familiar with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
  • Good command of Windows O/S.
  • Microsoft Office 365 troubleshooting experience.
  • Wireless networking knowledge.
  • Understanding of network protocols, server hardware and configurations.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Advantage: Basic knowledge of LAN‑WAN setups and concepts.
