Join ESP Global Services as a Global Payroll Adviser and help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across the UK and over 23 international locations. What You’ll Do As a Global Payroll Advisor, you will draw on your strong foundation in UK payroll processing and your ability to handle complex calculations, and you’ll develop into a trusted advisor on all aspects of global payroll.
You’ll
Start by ensuring operational excellence:
- Process and review in-house UK payroll, ensuring full compliance, accuracy, and adherence to statutory obligations.
- Manage day-to-day data input and calculations, including wages, overtime, benefits, and deductions.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and support pension submissions (UK, Ireland & Netherlands).
- Respond to payroll-related employee queries with clarity and empathy, fostering trust and confidence.
Step into more complex and global responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and support international payroll providers to deliver accurate and timely payrolls across EMEA and other regions.
- Handle more complex calculations, such as those relating to benefits or special situations, and contribute to month-end and year-end reporting.
- Work closely with employees and internal teams to resolve payroll and benefit queries, ensuring a service-focused experience.
Grow into an expert advisery role:
- Provide guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and compliance requirements across all jurisdictions.
- Help interpret legislative changes and advise on their impact to ensure best practice and compliance globally.
- Contribute to payroll-related strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.
- Liaise professionally with external stakeholders, including tax authorities and pension providers, representing ESP effectively.
- Actively engage with internal stakeholders — including HR, Finance, and managers — to ensure payroll aligns with business needs and employee expectations.
What You’ll Bring:
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in UK payroll processing, with a track record of accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency in handling complex calculations and a solid understanding of payroll legislation.
- High-level Excel skills (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF) and experience with payroll systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise employees and stakeholders confidently.
- A proactive, collaborative, and service-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Desirable (We’ll Help You Learn!):
- Experience working with or supporting international payrolls.
- Familiarity with ADP or similar global payroll systems.
- Understanding of payroll strategy and financial reporting.
