Care Skills Tutor

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Care Skills Tutor to deliver the Skills for Care – Care Certificate standards to adult learners preparing for work in health and social care.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging training that equips learners with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to work safely and professionally in care settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to adult learners
• Support learners to achieve the Care Certificate standards
• Maintain accurate learner records and progress reports
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, and assessments
• Promote safeguarding, equality, and professional standards at all times
• Provide pastoral and academic support to learners

Experience

• Level 3 or above qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Relevant teaching or training qualification (AET, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent)
• Up-to-date knowledge of the Care Certificate and Skills for Care standards
• Experience working in health and social care
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Enhanced DBS
• Experience teaching Mental Health and First Aid
• ESOL learner experience

Desirable: Makaton experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
