Erskine Stewart’s Melville are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Art and Design to join the Art and Design Department at the ESM Senior School on a permanent basis from 17 August 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks). This is a permanent, part‑time role, working equivalent to 0.24FTE of a full‑time teacher. The salary range for this position is £8,532 to £12,358.
The purpose of the role is to teach Art and Design to all year group levels and contribute to the School’s extra‑curricular programme. This is a varied role, delivering a broad curriculum using a wide range of media, techniques and processes including but not limited to drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D work, photography and/or digital art.
Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver lessons across all year group levels in Art and Design.
- Use a wide range of media, techniques and processes (drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D work, photography, digital art).
- Contribute to the School’s extra‑curricular programme, exhibitions and enrichment programmes.
- Collaborate with the department to create and build a successful subject offering for all Senior School students.
- GTCS registered, or eligible for registration, with the relevant subject‑specific teaching degree.
- Passionate about Art and Design.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver a broad curriculum and manage diverse media.
- Ability to contribute to extra‑curricular activities and enrichment programmes.
