Erskine Stewart Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a PE and Sports Assistant (Junior School) to join Erskine Stewart Melville Junior School on a 12‑month, temporary basis, commencing on 17 August 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks) until 25 June 2027. The role is full‑time, term‑time, working 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, with a pro‑rata salary of £20,309.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Junior School PE and Sports Department to operate and deliver a successful PE and Sport curricular and extra‑curricular program.
  • Be involved in the selection and coaching of sport teams within the Junior School.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of storage and sports equipment.
  • Collaborate with the School Nurses to maintain First Aid supplies.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams and external stakeholders, including parents.
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and readiness to support a busy department.
  • Support teachers and students in delivering high‑quality PE lessons and activities.
  • Work both as a team member and autonomously.

  • Must possess an alternative right to work in the UK (ESMS cannot sponsor international workers).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with various internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Confidence in working as a team member and autonomously.
  • Demonstrated initiative and flexibility.
