Job Title: New Business Development Manager Location : Sittingbourne, Kent (Hybrid with some WFH) Salary: £40,000 (OTE £55,000 – uncapped) Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. Experience level: Sales Experience Essential – Telesales experience preferred Job description: At ESM we manage the design and build of exhibition spaces to create engaging and memorable stands for our clients and their brands. All work is undertaken in house at our Kent headquarters by our experienced team who have been working on exhibition stands and trade fairs for a number of years, bringing both expertise and the latest trends to every project. We produce some genuinely beautiful work from our fully equipped factory and offices in Sittingbourne; working on some fantastic projects for a number of agencies, but also a large volume of work for exhibitors looking to stand out at their events predominantly in the UK. Our staff are tremendously proud of what we do, and this is a great chance to join a team and help drive revenues by expanding our client base. The Position: ESM are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team. You will manage your own activities to best promote our business and contact potential clients and businesses that are exhibiting at high profile events and exhibitions across the UK and Europe. Telesales activity will be of fundamental importance to the exeution of this role ; Look to understand the ESM target market to be able to identify and recognise the clients for whom we can deliver value Have a laser focus and dogged determination to promote our services to exhibitors and other industry stakeholders Identify targets and create relationships with organisers, venues, and ops teams to promote our services Be able to persevere and work to create relationships for the long term – so that ESM are invited to pitch when the opportunity does next arise for a particular client Research exhibitions and compile contact lists for outreach Conduct telesales campaigns to identify potential targets and maintain strong communication with them month after mont Develop and send targeted email campaigns with Telesales follow up Sourcing of lists and databases, and where neccesary management of 3rd party telesales agencies/staff if required Respond to enquries and drive the pitch process in conjunction with the MD and project managers Produce Weekly Reports on work undertaken, lead generation, and decision making Make visits to exhibitions to understand the market, identify targets, engage with potential clients and promote ESM\’s services – look to visit events where ESM build to understand what we do and promote our work at those events The Candidate: The ideal candidate will be a dogged and determined sales professional who is a real people person that loves to talk and engage with prospects. You will need to be driven, hardworking, and organised, success orientated and revenue focused. You should be highly literate and a great verbal communicator, able to understand and communicate our offer fluently to the target audience with the ability to talk to anyone at any level – comfortable with negotiating with senior decision makers. Most importantly, you should be unflinching in the face of the inevitable rejections you will receive, whilst determined and passionate to celebrate every YES with gusto.
