This position is part of Esland’s new SEN school opening in September 2026, supporting vulnerable young people aged 8–18 with SEND and SEMH needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects, with a particular emphasis on English
- Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies
- Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
- A minimum of 2 years post‑graduation experience
- Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
- Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
- Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Desirable:
- Subject/department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
- Experience teaching across alternative subjects and willingness to support other departments as the team grows
