We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering design projects within the water sector. This role is suited to someone who is confident managing projects end-to-end — from planning and coordination through to delivery — while working closely with engineers, clients and supply chain partners. You will take ownership of project performance, ensuring designs are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while also supporting the development of more junior project managers.
The Role
- Leading the delivery of multidisciplinary water design projects
- Ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to required quality standards
- Managing and administering NEC and other contract requirements
- Developing, updating and managing project programmes
- Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction
- Reporting project progress, risks and performance to senior stakeholders
- Coordinating internal design teams and external supply chain partners
- Managing project change, variations and commercial considerations
- Supporting the preparation of tenders and proposals
- Leading and developing Assistant Project Managers and junior team members
About You
We are looking for someone with solid project management experience who is confident leading projects and working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. It’s essential that you have:
- Project management and/or design management experience
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Strong understanding of project programmes, cost control and delivery
- Experience managing or contributing to engineering design projects
- Ability to lead small teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of commercial and contractual principles
It’s desirable for you to have:
- Experience within the UK water industry
- Understanding of rail sector processes (e.g. GRIP stages, CRE/CEM roles)
- Experience working with NEC and fixed-price contracts
- Experience managing change and variation within design projects
- Degree or HND in an engineering or related discipline

Full time from our office in Trafford House. Occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid. Working from home possible on occasional basis when required provided agreed in advance. Contract positions may be outside IR35.
