  • Producing design investigations, reports and specifications
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant technical standards, professional guidance and company procedures
  • Ensuring project design changes are properly implemented and recorded
  • Estimating design hours and supporting project planning
  • Attending and contributing to design meetings and presentations

If you’re a motivated mechanical engineer with experience in the water sector and a desire to develop your technical and professional capability, we’d love to hear from you. It’s essential that you have:

  • Around 5 years’ mechanical design experience within the UK water industry
  • Degree, HND or significant practical experience from technician level progression
  • Strong IT and digital design capability
  • Registered with a professional engineering institution and working towards chartership

It’s desirable for you to have:

  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience in hydraulic design
  • Experience working on UMON schemes
  • Experience across clean water and wastewater, infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects
  • Awareness of construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing practices

Your key skills should include:

  • Strong mechanical engineering design capability
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Clear and effective communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
