About The Service
Avon Search and Selection are excited to be working with a Care provider of choice to help them source an experienced Home Manager to join their team at one of their Private Specialist care facilities in North East Wales. Providing high-quality, person-centred support to five adult males with learning disabilities and autism, enabling them to live meaningful, fulfilled lives in a safe and supportive environment. The semi-rural setting offers calm, space, and opportunity, while our dedicated team focuses on dignity, choice, independence, and wellbeing. The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead the home and drive excellence in care, leadership, and compliance. As the CIW Registered Manager, you will have full accountability for the day-to-day management of the service and for ensuring compliance with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and associated regulations. You will provide strong, visible leadership to your team while ensuring the people we support receive outstanding, person-centred care that promotes independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for a values-driven leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, inspirational leadership to a multidisciplinary staff team
- Maintain registration with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and ensure full regulatory compliance
- Embed a positive, person-centred culture focused on dignity, choice, and individual outcomes
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and the delivery of individualised support plans
- Ensure safe, effective support for individuals who may display behaviours that challenge
- Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal, training, and development
- Maintain high standards of quality, safeguarding, health and safety, and medication management
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure financial sustainability
- Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Lead on continuous improvement, audits, and quality assurance
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a management role within Learning Disabilities and/or Autism services
- Registered Manager experience (or readiness to register) with CIW or CQC
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or evidence of working towards it
- Strong understanding of CIW or CQC regulations, best practice, and quality frameworks
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge (desirable)
- Resilient, compassionate, and confident leader with excellent communication skills
- A values-driven approach with a genuine passion for making a difference
