Are you a registered Dental Nurse looking for extra hours in the evenings and weekends? We are looking to recruit to our Dental Nurse team across our two East Sussex Out of Hours dental sites (formerly known as the Emergency Dental Service). Successful candidates would be joining our dedicated out of hours dental team providing urgent dental care to people in East Sussex. We have various permanent 4 and 4.5 hour evening and weekend shifts for dental nursing and reception triage duties across our East Sussex sites. Our out of hours dental clinics are based in Eastbourne and St Leonards on Sea.

Responsibilities

  • To assist the duty dentist in the delivery of out of hours care to patients and administer and manage the sessional running of clinic.
  • Receive patients and prepare them for treatment taking into account any patient disability or special needs.
  • Assist during treatment by using relevant equipment and techniques to ensure procedures are carried out safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Mix and accurately prepare clinical materials, using specific guidelines for each individual material, as requested by clinician for use in patient treatment.
  • To make telephone contact with patients that have contacted the service to provide triage and advice to analyse their condition and decide if an appointment is appropriate and to then be responsible for allowing patients access to the building.
  • Ensure that correct documentation has been completed by patients, parents/carers, update patient records on computer, collect patient charges and be responsible for point of treatment checks by examining appropriate patient documentation and occasional manual collection of information.

Qualifications

You will need to be a qualified registered Dental Nurse with at least 2 years previous chairside experience.
