MacDonald Ward is an acute 28-bedded complex care frailty ward caring for elderly patients. The team is friendly, supportive and committed to providing a high standard of care. We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and passionate Health Care Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Care for frailty patients with multiple medical conditions, medications and specialist needs.
- Provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula and undertake physiological observations.
- Escort patients from clinical areas and provide personal care.
- Accurately document all interventions in the patient record.
- Book hospital transport to take patients home.
- Participate in an induction course and complete Trust statutory/Mandatory training.
Qualifications
- Minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4, or Functional Skills for English/Maths.
- Care Certificate and/or NVQ2 (or equivalent) in health and social care.
- Experience as a Clinical Support Worker is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
