We are delighted to have an opportunity to appoint up to 12 months Fixed Term/Secondment professional development opportunity Cancer Support Worker to join our established team of cancer clinical nurse specialists within Upper GI Cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Work with speciality teams to improve the patient experience, ensuring patients are seen promptly and by the most appropriate person.
  • Collaborate with the MDT to support the development of new stratified patient support pathways.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support as a Band 4 administrator: process bookings, referrals, collate reports, audits, and develop with the service under the guidance of specialist nurses.
  • Work across the two main hospital sites as required.
  • Support the existing support worker and CNS team, contributing to the service and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of good general education: GSCE Grade C (4) or above, including Maths & English.
  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or an equivalent qualification.
