Part‑time Band 3 Orthopaedic and General Surgery Occupational Therapy Assistant at Conquest Hospital, Acute Orthopaedic Hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in skilled support work for rehabilitation and safe discharge of patients.
  • Assess, prescribe, and provide appropriate equipment to increase patient independence and safety.
  • Manage own caseload as delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Monitor patient progression and make minor alterations to treatment programme as required.
  • Assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with complex cases requiring two people to treat.
  • Work unsupervised or lone working; report on patient progress and inform Occupational Therapist of any problems.
  • Assist in induction of new assistant staff, students, and rotational Junior Occupational Therapists.
