Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an Elective outpatient Supervisor Role within our Fast Track Booking Service. The applicant would be expected to be able to demonstrate previous supervisory experience and a strong knowledge of the Cancer pathways.

Main duties of the job

The Successful applicant would be supporting the Elective Booking Manager in the running of the Appointments officer including electronic rostering, leave and performance. You would need to be confident, pro-active and have excellent communication skills. Knowledge of National performance targets is desirable and an understanding of organisational objectives. You would be expected to ensure all bookings are managed in line with Trust and national policies and that all documentation is administered. Experience within the NHS would be desirable.

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) to include English and Maths Grade C or above.
  • NVQ3 admin or proven equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued development to NVQ4 equivalent including: o Knowledge of Human Resources Policy and Procedures o Knowledge of Outpatients appointment management o Staff supervision and customer care.

Experience

  • Previous experience in an Administration working environment
  • Experience of managing administration staff
  • Managing conflict in the workplace
  • Experience and understanding of a PAS system
  • Experience and thorough working knowledge of Oasis and the Clinics for OPD
  • Working to tight deadlines and prioritising workload
  • Customer care skills and experience in the NHS
  • Managing rotas for groups of staff
  • Experience of dealing with PALS, Complaints and Datix incidents
  • Experience of recruitment and selection of staff
