Are you passionate about supporting families in their infant feeding journey and driving excellence in public health practice? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Specialist Practitioner in Infant Feeding to lead and develop high‐quality infant feeding services across East Sussex.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Infant Feeding Team and act as the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) Lead, ensuring best practice standards are met.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to families, empowering them to achieve their feeding goals.
  • Deliver training and guidance to health professionals and multi‐agency partners.
  • Drive strategic development and quality improvement across the Health Visiting service.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of professionals and agencies to promote inclusive, evidence‐based care.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for families.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, managing and documenting concerns appropriately.
  • Oversee staff supervision, performance management, and professional development within the team.
  • Lead on strategic planning and service development, using data to evaluate and improve service effectiveness.
  • Represent the service at internal and external meetings, offering expert advice and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

You will be a registered Nurse or Midwife with specialist qualifications in infant feeding, and have substantial experience in supporting complex feeding needs, managing teams, and delivering impactful training. A commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and continuous improvement is essential.

Contract Details

Up to 12 months fixed term contract (secondment opportunities available).
