MacDonald Ward is an acute 28-bedded complex care frailty ward caring for elderly patients. The team is friendly, supportive and committed to providing a high standard of care. We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and passionate Health Care Assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Care for frailty patients with multiple medical conditions, medications and specialist needs.
  • Provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula and undertake physiological observations.
  • Escort patients from clinical areas and provide personal care.
  • Accurately document all interventions in the patient record.
  • Book hospital transport to take patients home.
  • Participate in an induction course and complete Trust statutory/Mandatory training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4, or Functional Skills for English/Maths.
  • Care Certificate and/or NVQ2 (or equivalent) in health and social care.
  • Experience as a Clinical Support Worker is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
