We are seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join the Finance Team at George Abbot School. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is responsible for delivering effective financial management, ensuring strong financial control, compliance with Trust procedures, and accurate financial operations across the school.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will oversee core accounting processes, including payroll, budget monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Support strategic planning and enable senior leaders to make informed decisions.
  • Line manage finance support staff and act as an escalation point for payroll and finance queries.
  • Contribute to audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong financial expertise with senior-level experience.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to strict deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively with stakeholders.

Location: 11-18 mixed comprehensive in Guildford. Full time 21 hours per week, 41 weeks per annum.

Salary: LP8: FTE £39,344-£42,488; Actual £20,938.53-£22,611.73 per annum.

Required from: September 2026.
