We are currently seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our glass products are transported safely and efficiently from our factory in Essex to our customers across the UK. A valid Moffatt Licence, or experience using a Moffatt, is highly desirable.
This is a multidrop delivery role, with 6-10 deliveries a day depending on size and location. It involves a large amount of city driving and early starts from our HQ in Witham. You may be asked to stay out overnight on some occasions, and if this is required, we will provide a 'night out allowance' to you. Our drivers are the face of ESG, so we are looking for friendly and professional people with excellent customer service and communication skills.
Duties:- Provide our customers with an accurate and efficient delivery, maintaining excellent levels of customer service.
- Loading, securing, and unloading glass ensuring it is secure for transportation. Some manual handling is expected in this role.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
- Inspect vehicles daily for safety and mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks taking appropriate action where necessary.
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations at all times. Report any accidents or damages as soon as possible.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and any other documentation required.
- Attend any and all relevant training as required, ensuring you remain fully equipped to perform your role.
- Maintain excellent communication with the internal transport team and other drivers.
- Comply with all company policies, code of conduct, and drivers handbook.
- HGV Class 2 licence or above.
- Valid (in date) driver CPC and Digital Tachograph.
- Moffett Licence highly desirable.
- HGV multidrop experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
