ESD Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a respected family‑run construction company who operate in the Surrey / Kent area. They specialise in the construction of high‑end residential projects and care homes across the South East and are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis.
Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in managing all commercial and financial aspects of projects from tender through to final account. You’ll work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and the management team to ensure projects are delivered on budget and with strong commercial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects
- Preparing and submitting tender and contract documents
- Measuring and valuing works (on‑site and from drawings)
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
- Procuring and managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Assessing and certifying subcontractor payments
- Producing monthly valuations and applications for payment
- Monitoring project costs, variations, and cash flow
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Working closely with the management team to ensure strong financial control and reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry (main contractor or developer background preferred)
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or care home projects
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and general project cost reporting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying (preferred)
