Continued growth has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects from tender through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor looking to join a stable and growing business with long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and forecasts.
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare, submit and agree interim valuations.
  • Manage subcontractor payments and final accounts.
  • Identify and manage variations, change control and compensation events.
  • Produce accurate cost reports and commercial updates for senior management.
  • Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Assist with tendering and pricing of new works.
  • Ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, earthworks, infrastructure, aggregates, highways or heavy plant.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple live projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
