About The Client
My Client pride themselves on delivering high-quality, reliable and safe regeneration and planned maintenance works across the UK. As building safety standards evolve, they are at the forefront of major fire remediation and refurbishment projects.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor / Project Surveyor who specialises in external wall systems and fire remediation to lead their commercial delivery on high-profile tower blocks and multi-story residential schemes.
The Role
As a Senior / Project Surveyor, you will take commercial ownership of complex cladding remediation projects from inception to final accounts. This isn’t a standard surveying role; you will be overseeing high-stakes, technical fire safety schemes that directly impact building safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Manage all variations, valuations, CVRs and final accounts for major recladding and fire remediation projects.
- Subcontractor Procurement & Management: Select, negotiate with and manage specialist facade and cladding subcontractors.
- Cost Control: Monitor project expenditure closely to maximise profitability while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality specifications.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for clients, housing associations and local authorities.
Key Requirements:
- To be successful in this role, you must have deep, practical experience in cladding and external wall systems.
- Cladding & Fire Remediation Expertise: Proven track record managing projects involving full recladding, safely removing non-compliant exterior materials and installing new, protective, fire-rated facades.
- Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of modern facade build-ups, including the proper installation of sheathing boards, vapor barriers, insulation and ventilation battens.
- High-Rise / Tower Block Experience: Direct experience working on high-rise residential buildings (tower blocks) and navigating the complexities of working at height and structural fire safety.
- Industry Background: Ideally, you have worked for a main contractor or specialist refurbishment contractor of a similar nature, managing public sector or social housing framework projects.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (MCIOB or MRICS is a plus, but solid hands-on experience is prioritised).
What’s in it for you?
- Competitive Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 (dependent on experience and portfolio).
- Generous holiday allowance and pension scheme.
- Genuine opportunities for career progression within a rapidly growing, stable sector of the construction industry.
- The chance to work on meaningful projects that make high-rise communities safer.
