Harestock Nursery Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Harestock Nursery, Winchester. Harestock Nursery is a privately owned and managed nursery set in a convenient location on the outskirts of Winchester offering places for 60 children from 6 months up to 5 years. We strive to provide a warm, loving and secure environment where a child’s imagination is supported and not stifled, where the importance of play and social interaction is seen as more important than being ready for school. The staff will guide each individual child along their own individual learning trail. We encourage parent partnership and active participation to optimise the child’s growth and development to reach their full potential. A trained experienced team of staff who will be provided with support and who will be given the opportunity to develop and grow with continuous professional development.

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Working towards being a key person
  • Assisting with the setting up of daily activities
  • Supporting the children’s education
  • Passionate, creative, and able to inspire children in achieving the highest standard of care and education
  • A team player who can communicate clearly with both adults and children
  • Ability to manage workload in a time-effective manner
  • Undertaking all aspects of personal care
  • Assisting at mealtimes
  • Liaising with parents and keeping them updated on their child’s progress

Requirements:

  • A Level 2 Childcare qualification would be desirable
  • Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours:

Harestock Nursery is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work 30 - 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days – flexible.
