Aviva Acorns Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, punctual and hardworking individual with a passion for working in childcare, to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Aviva Acorns. The nursery is a custom built workplace nursery located in the Aviva building in Stoke Gifford, where we provide high quality childcare for those employees at Aviva/Lakeside for ages between 6 weeks and 5 years.
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a Key Carer for a group of children providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care.
- Implementing daily routines and liaising with parents and carers on a regular basis.
- Ensuring the nursery provides a high quality, safe and stimulating early years environment in which children are able to explore, play and learn through both planned activities and those of their own choosing.
- Meeting the care and learning needs of individual children.
- Planning, preparing and implementing age/stage appropriate activities which meet children’s individual developmental needs in line with the Early Years at Acorns and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including evaluation, assessment and identification of next steps for learning in conjunction with other staff.
- Liaising with, providing support and maintaining a professional relationship with parents, carers and any other family members at all times.
- Working in partnership with parents ensuring that they are kept fully involved and informed about their child’s activities, achievements and progress, and encouraging parental involvement.
- Working with parents/carers of children with additional learning needs to ensure inclusivity by implementing our procedures.
Requirements:
- A Level 2 childcare qualification is essential.
- You must be able to gain a clear DBS.
- GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent are required.
Hours:
Aviva Acorns are open from 08.00-18.00 Monday to Friday, all year round. The successful candidate will be required to work between 30-40 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
