Kaleidoscope Nursery and Pre School are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Kaleidoscope Nursery as a Level 2 or 3 Childcare Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a qualification in Early Years via an Apprenticeship at Kaleidoscope Nursery and Preschool within a friendly team in the heart of Sherborne.

Kaleidoscope Nursery celebrates the skill and competence of babies and young children. The nursery offers children an environment where they will be treated with kindness and patience. This is a space where the individuality of each child is respected, cherished, and encouraged to grow to reach their full potential. The setting accommodates children up to 5 years, with a large garden area and large sensory room. The children are accommodated in 2 preschool rooms, 2 baby rooms, 1 toddler room and a dining room.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with personal care
  • Supporting with feeding and snacks
  • Preparing activities for the children
  • Participating in activities with the children
  • Helping with messy play
  • Working with other team members to keep the setting clean and tidy
  • Must be willing to get involved
  • Adhering to safeguarding procedures
  • Always keeping the children safe
  • Following health and safety procedures
  • Observing children
  • Interacting with parents

Requirements:

  • You must be able to obtain a clear DBS
  • Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent to work towards your Level 3

Hours: For this position, the candidate would be working a minimum of 30 hours per week, with shifts between the setting’s opening hours of 8.00am and 17.30pm.
