Willow Cottage Nurseries are seeking a person to assist in keeping our nurseries clean and operating effectively, as well as providing additional cover for our nursery teams looking after the children during busy periods.
Hours: 25 over 5 days 7.00am - 12.00pm (alternative hours may be available for the right candidate)
Start Date: Open until filled
Locations: There are currently openings at the following locations:
- Farmoor OX2 9NT
- Bletchingdon OX5 3DH
Qualification: Familiarity with COSHH regulations is desirable.
Experience: A successful candidate will probably have had experience working as a housekeeper and be comfortable and confident looking after children aged 0-5.
Salary: £11.40/hour + Benefits

Responsible to: Team Leaders, Setting Management
Flexible working arrangement: We are looking for someone who can work 5 days a week either 9am to 2pm or 11.30 to 4.30pm. However, this is a flexible role and we may be able to accommodate other working patterns or longer hours. Unfortunately, this is not a term‑time only position.
Housekeeper role: Our nurseries are spacious and full of activity and our housekeepers are key to keeping them running smoothly and efficiently. As a housekeeper your role will include the following activities:
- Regularly cleaning surfaces and touch points to maintain good hygiene
- Deep cleaning toys, resources and storage areas
- Ensuring good H&S practice by storing and using materials safely.
- Working with the staff team to plan cleaning routine around keeping the children safe.
Nursery Assistant role (may include lunchtime cover): Our lunchtime and Nursery assistants support our teams by helping look after the children when staff need to leave the room. This includes cover during the lunchtime period and also events, such as planning meetings, or covering absences. As a lunchtime assistant your role will include:
- Supervising and engaging with the children for various periods during the nursery day, including throughout the lunchtime period.
- Supporting with the serving of the food, complying with dietary requirements and food hygiene standards.
- Supporting with the setting up, clearing up and cleaning up for the meal.
- Additionally helping out around snack times when on duty.
Training and other information: Training will be provided where necessary alongside our established mentoring programme. You will need your own transport as there are no public transport services to this address and Lower Road does not have a footpath. There is ample parking on site. Please be aware that this can be a physically demanding role. We expect high levels of professionalism from our staff. Good levels of interpersonal communication are necessary when working with other staff to plan cleaning routines around the children and the arrangements for the day.
