The Opportunity

The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, resilience, and performance of the organization’s IT infrastructure across data centres, networks, and cloud environments. This role oversees day-to-day operations, incident management, and lifecycle processes for critical infrastructure services, ensuring compliance with security and governance standards. The position plays a key role in maintaining service availability, optimizing infrastructure performance, and driving operational excellence in alignment with business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of core infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure systems are patched, monitored, and compliant with ITIL and security standards.
  • Lead incident management for critical services, ensuring rapid restoration of services during outages.
  • Maintain and update playbooks for operational continuity.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and forecast capacity requirements.
  • Develop strategies for scaling and optimizing resources to meet business growth.
  • Manage relationships with infrastructure service providers, ensuring SLAs are met and contracts align with operational needs.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR) and internal security policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure assets.
  • Lead and mentor the infrastructure operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate on-call schedules and escalation processes.
  • Own infrastructure risk registers and change management processes, ensuring CAB approvals and disaster recovery plans are up to date and tested annually.
  • Deliver projects and programmes to improve the technology of the business.
  • Develop backlogs, roadmaps, and strategies for the technology within Infrastructure.
  • Perform reactive root-cause analysis.
