The Opportunity: As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day tax compliance and ensuring strategic tax planning across the UK and multiple international jurisdictions. This role requires hands-on involvement in corporate tax, VAT/GST, and cross-border tax matters. You will act as the primary tax resource in the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all tax processes. The role will require building relationships with the wider finance team to ensure all tax compliance requirements are satisfied in a timely manner.

  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Prepare and submit UK corporate tax returns and oversee filings for overseas subsidiaries.
  • Manage VAT/GST compliance and quarterly reviews across jurisdictions.
  • International Tax & Advisory
    • Review cross-border transactions for permanent establishment risks and transfer pricing compliance.
    • Advise on tax implications of intercompany arrangements and global expansion.
    • Monitor local and global tax developments and implement necessary adjustments.
    • Maintain robust documentation and internal controls for all tax processes.
    • Lead responses to tax audits and inquiries from authorities in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Process Ownership
    • Act as the single point of contact for all tax matters.
    • Drive continuous improvement and automation of tax processes.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in global tax, ideally within multinational companies or big 4 firm.
    • Analytical Thinking & Attention to Detail.
    • Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Engagement to finance and non-finance audiences.
    • Proven background in identifying tax risks, establishing effective internal control and ensuring governance is adhered to.
    • Ability to stay current on global tax law changes and leading organisational adjustments.
    • Deep understanding of global tax regimes, including treaty analysis, VAT/GST, withholding tax.
    • Skilled with tax systems.
    • Experience in multi-jurisdictional audits and managing responses to tax authorities.
