The Financial Accountant will manage the consolidation of financial results across multiple entities and ensure accurate group reporting. This role is critical for delivering timely consolidated accounts and supporting compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities:- Prepare consolidated financial statements for the group in line with IFRS.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
- Oversee group month-end close and reporting processes.
- Support statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors for group audits.
- Monitor compliance with accounting standards and group policies.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions.
- Drive improvements in consolidation processes and reporting systems.
- Monitor and report on cash flow and working capital.
- Partner with FP&A on budgets/forecasts, scenario modelling, and performance insights.
- Engage with Operations, Sales, and HR/Payroll to ensure correct accounting for complex transactions (contracts, rebates, stock, payroll, benefits).
- Prepare clear, decision ready analyses and recommendations for leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (Big 4 or large practice background preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and consolidation principles.
- Previous experience in group accounting or audit.
- Advanced Excel and experience with consolidation tools (e.g., Hyperion, Cognos).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record in intercompany accounting, multicurrency consolidation, and foreign exchange impacts.
