Are you looking for a role where you can make a real difference to learner outcomes? Do you want to inspire learners to build confidence and progress through core subjects? We are looking for a passionate and motivated Lecturer in Functional Skills Maths & English to join our supportive and collaborative Apprenticeship team. This role involves delivering Functional Skills Maths and English, supporting learners from a range of backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress into further learning or employment.

You'll be part of a team that is committed to high-quality teaching, learner success, and continuous professional development. This exciting role will include:

  • Delivering engaging and effective Functional Skills Maths and English lessons
  • Planning, preparing and assessing learning to support learner progress and achievement
  • Motivating learners, raising aspirations, and supporting progression outcomes
  • Contributing positively to curriculum development and the wider teaching team

If you can demonstrate the following, then we'd love to hear from you:

  • Experience of teaching Functional Skills and/or GCSE Maths
  • A full teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
  • The ability to deliver high-quality teaching and be a good or outstanding practitioner
  • Strong planning, organisation and communication skills, with a learner-focused approach

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus. Annual salary: Circa £32-£45 per hour including Holiday Rate. (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: Sessional – Please note the hours will typically be between 8 – 9.30 am & 4.30 – 6.30 pm to facilitate our Apprentices timetable.
