Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Buyer role based in Whetstone.
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing electronic components, materials, and services to support production schedules and new product introductions.
Day‑to‑day tasks include obtaining and evaluating quotations, negotiating pricing and terms, placing purchase orders, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
The role involves maintaining accurate procurement data in ERP systems, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve supply issues and support continuous improvement.
The Buyer will also help identify alternative suppliers, mitigate supply chain risks, and contribute to cost‑optimization initiatives in line with ESCATEC’s high standards of customer service and operational reliability.
Qualifications
- Experience in purchasing or supply chain within electronics manufacturing or a related engineering environment, including component and materials sourcing.
- Strong skills in supplier management, including negotiating pricing, lead times, and contractual terms, and monitoring supplier performance.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard office software, with the ability to maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
- Solid analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret demand forecasts, manage stock levels, and support cost and efficiency improvements.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with production, engineering, quality, and logistics teams.
- Organized and detail‑focused approach, capable of managing multiple purchase orders, priorities, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of electronics components, manufacturing processes, or EMS industry standards is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
